Popular Bible stories to read to our Children?

We realize that there are some stories in the Bible that aren't suitable for our children yet. We want to wait until they are older before we teach them Jesus. Out of all the stories in the Bible, which ones are the most suitable for young children? My wife and I didn't feel our kids were old enough to learn about the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ until they are older. I think that the story of creation would be a good starting point, but I wanted to ask the forum what they felt would be the best story to start with?
