Well considering the fact that the shoehorn is mainly a practical tool, practicality is definitely one of the key factors that would make one prefer a shoehorn.
LIES! but in all seriousness...
And hello?! Quality? Of course quality matters! If it didn't then we could just all make our shoehorns out of plastic now couldn't we? And if one shoehorn truly inspires awe, it is my Maxwell FX-19! The tiny hand on one side is actually a scratcher! So when my back itches and I am slipping into some comfortable shoes, I can scratch myself anywhere I want. If that doesn't inspire awe then nothing does.
There is only one thing I look for in a shoehorn, and that is it's ability to help me slip into my shoes. All the other features I could do without. I mean what's next? Shoehorns that massage your feet whilst tuning in on your favorite radio channel. No, I do not like it.
This is my opinion on all products nowadays. When I buy a phone, I could care less about its 1 mega pixel camera and 10 megabyte mp3 player. It seems companies add features of inferior quality all so they can charge us extra. I mean look at the iPhone.
To be honest, the lumps on the FX-19 make it seem like a sex device that one would shove up their rectum (pardon the profanity).
